This week: Light into Darkness

The next rune is "Light into darkness" ... enlightenment ... As a child I was taught, "Many kinds of darkness in this world are found" and my world view even today involves darkness and brief moments of light ... the people I work with are fighting many darknesses, internal and environmental: abuse, addiction, oppression, health concerns ... What is the meaning of light and darkness? Different for each one.

There is so much to learn while we are granted some time on the planet.

When I see the Light into Darkness rune, I always visualize light entering a dark cave... the rune looks like a cave mouth to me. (Very Socratic, on one level).

On small and large scales, everyone seeks the light ...

My father's favourite photo of himself was taken when he was out prospecting in the 1950s, on the Tulsequah River. After several hours in the dense dark forest, he emerged into the sunlight, and his heart felt so extremely glad! He asked his prospecting friend to take his photo with the sun on his face and a glad smile.
That picture will always be in my heart. Light into darkness!

Reopening "Morgana's Coffee and Runes"

The Rune for you today is: New Beginnings

Pour yourself a lovely cup of Swedish coffee. Add some sugar ... don't worry about the virtual calories, there aren't many! It's good for you...

New Beginnings!
I chose this rune, of course, because I am experiencing amazing new beginnings in my own life in the last ten days. Simultaneously, I reopened my "Coffee and Runes" coffeeshop blog on line.

I am going around saying, "Well! You CAN teach an old dog new tricks!"

New beginnings are exciting and inspiring and rejuvenating for us ... and scarey, too!
You succeeded in getting to this new point in life ... now, you will carry on with it ... what will it be like?
I predict you will be more alive than ever before!

New beginnings have a flip side!
There are endings ... perhaps to a stage in your life, perhaps to certain relationships, careers, educational experiences ... and perhaps you set aside the use of certain abilities and talents, for now, in order to draw on other skills.

Nothing you learn is ever wasted! You will use these abilities again.

A cup of Swedish coffee

A cup of Swedish coffee and maybe a cookie with lingonberry jam would just hit the spot right now.... after a long hot night at work.
Once, I had a dream that I opened a coffeeshop by the seashore. It was named "Morgana's Coffee and Runes".
Well, I live on the coast, and here is my "coffeeshop". Come in for a chat some time, and maybe a cookie with your fortune on it.

I will just blog and post photos about things that are interesting, from time to time.

Be back soon to post more!
